I just love hats with texture.  They really add interest and dimension to images.  Deep, dark, rich tones (Navy and Chocolate Brown) with a pop of bright color (Hot Pink and Royal Blue in button) compliments skin tones.  Embroidery or stitching on fabric gives depth and grain.
