3 Years Old!

I did a fun "hat" session with Elizabeth! Her mom brought in nine hats and we took shots of her in each hat. It is going to make for a great collage series. I "hand painted" the last four photos with my new computerized paint brush (I said bye, bye to my mouse!). More to come.

Newborn | 8 Days Old!

Eight-day old Reily is by far the most alert newborn I've ever photographed. She was a wake for the first 2 1/2 hours of the session and finally fell asleep in the wooden bowl less than 10 minutes before her parents had to leave for her one week doctor appointment. Her open eye photos did turn out pretty...beautiful eyes! We were lucky to get some sleepy newborn shots at the end. Such a sweet girl with fluffy dark black hair! Oh, her mom and dad said it was the first time she sucked her thumb (in the wood bowl...how cute!). Click on image to enlarge.

Newborn | 13 days old!

Reid was born on July 3rd and weighed 6 pounds and was 19.5 inches long. He was 13 days old when he had his newborn photos taken. I did a maternity session with his mom and dad on June 26th and her due date was July 22nd....good thing we didn't wait any long as Reid arrived early exactly one week later. He basically slept the entire session and was perfect - so many good shots that it is really hard to pick a favorite..don't know how I'm going to narrow them down when editing. His black hair is amazing! Congratulations Claire and Mark on your new son! Click on image to enlarge.

Newborn | 14 Weeks Old!

Lillia's story is heart touching. She is 14 weeks...yes weeks not days...old and weighs only 7 pounds. She made her entrance 8 weeks early when her mom had to have an emergency c-section. She only weighed 2 pounds (Lindsay, do I have her birth weight correct?) and spent 8 weeks in the hospital. As you can see, she's healthy, growing and doing great! I had such a fun time with Lillia and her parents....you guys were so nice. Newborn sessions do take a very long time and I have to say that Lillia's dad has to be about the most patient husband/dad around - he's from Iowa....must be something about guys from Iowa having true patience...my husband is from Iowa too :). Lilies are my very favorite flower and I have a garden full of different varieties.....picked a few to include in the pictures, in honor of her name....Lillia!

I'm back logged on getting everyone's galleries up. Starting September, my little boys will be in pre-school and adventure club five days a week which will allow me to 100% focus on photos during normal working hours. So, a big thanks to everyone for their patience!!

Newborn | 13 days old!

In the past week and a 1/2 I've had three newborn shoots (a boy and two very sweet girls) and I'm just getting through ALL the shots. I'm in love with this black-haired 13-day old boy...Reid....couldn't wait to share a photo with ya all (due date was July 22nd, born early on July 3rd).....more newborn photos to come! Just look at all that jet black hair.
