Clothing is a very important part of making your photography awesome!
Dark, rich, deep, bold, bright colors are fabulous in photos. Avoid white or light pastel tones. Fabric that has texture, grain, fiber, ribbing, weave and fur gives depth....wool, silk, velvet, knit, corduroy, denim, ruffles, embroidery, stitching, leather. I love the classic style but also like mixing in funky, fun, hip, trendy, high fashion outfits. Mix it up with a few different looks from traditional to fashion forward.
Layers, layers, layers add a sense of dimension vs. a thin t-shirt. Collared shirts vs. crew neck work best (not always but often)). I love hats and scarves!
For family or sibling photos it is OKAY not to wear matching outfits! Look for outfits that fit each child and/or parent's personal style and tie all the "looks" together by selecting colors that coordinate. Skip the white shirts and khaki pants :)
